PNG Maritime College is the only College in Papua New Guinea offering training in all aspects of Marine Sea-going Personnel. The college is about 3 kilometers from Madang Township is suited on the waterfront of Binnen Habour next to Madang Technical Services. This boarding college can accommodate 120 trainees consisting of both junior and senior students. The senior students are made up of Mate 5 and up, Engineer 5 and up living n twin berth room fully furnished where the junior students live in separate spacious dormitories. Students wear uniforms and are issued different variety of protective outfits for different uses at the college.

There are eight (8) streams in the Marine Engineering Course Structure which are:

1. Engine Room Rating Grade 2
2. Engine Room Rating Grade 1
3. Engineer Cadet
4. Grade 5 Engineer
5. Grade 4 Engineer
6. Grade 3 Engineer
7. Grade 2 Second/Chief Engineer
8. Grade 1 Second/Chief Engineer
